Is it safe to buy on hamaracd.com?

Hamaracd.com is certified by Verisign Inc., USA, the premier Site Security Certification company in the world, for security of transactions. We use the latest technology to protect your credit card information. Your credit card information is completely encrypted and is used only for authorization and authentication purposes.

Your order will be placed using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption. SSL is the Internet standard for secure transactions and is used by the largest and most respected websites for securing their e-commerce transactions. The most popular browsers (including Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator) are automatically able to use SSL security.

How do I pay?

Hamaracd.com offers you many payment options to choose from. You can pay through these payment options:

How do I pay by credit card?

Just enter your credit card details when ordering on the website. Our secure payment gateway obtains online authorization from the issuing bank and confirms your order in a matter of seconds.

How do I pay by Cheque?

We accept cheques of all banks accredited to the Reserve Bank of India. When paying by cheque, you need to submit your cheque number along with other details when prompted to do so on the website.

Please follow these simple steps:

  1. The cheque should be drawn in favour of "Saregama India Ltd.".
  2. Please write your Order Number, name and e-mail ID at the back of the cheque.
  3. Please mark the envelope in bold letters "Hamaracd".
  4. You should mail the cheque to the following address:

Can I pay by outstation cheques?

We would encourage you to use the credit card option for the quickest delivery. However, if you do send an outstation cheque, we will make the shipment to you once the cheque is cleared, which could take from 5 to 10 business days.

How soon can I expect delivery of my custom CD?

If you pay by credit card, you can expect delivery within fourteen business days from the date of order.

If you pay by cheque, your CD will be shipped within fourteen business days of your cheque being cleared. Local cheques (issued from Chennai) will take 2 to 4 business days to be cleared. Outstation cheques will take 5 to 10 business days to be cleared.

Note: Don't forget to write the order ID number on the back of the cheque. Otherwise, delivery could be delayed.

You can check the order status of your CD on the My Account page at any time after placement of your order.

Will I have to pay Sales Tax?

The amount paid by you is inclusive of sales tax, central excise tax and shipping and handling charges.

What are my freight and shipping charges?

All freight and shipping charges are borne by us. You get your custom CD delivered to your doorstep, without paying anything extra for shipping.

What if the items are damaged or defective?

If you receive a damaged or defective item, we will promptly send you a free replacement upon receipt of the defective item along with details of Order Number and the nature of defect.

How are the CDs packaged for despatch?

All CDs dispatched by us are packed in an outer casing (jewel box) and then shrink wrapped. This shrink wrapped box is in turn packed in an outer envelope with bubble wrap lining inside to ensure safe transportation.

How do I order my custom CD?

Once you have found your songs through search or browse, add them to your custom CD by clicking on ''Add to CD''. This button is usually present on all pages that display search results. You can place songs up to 60 minutes duration in to your custom CD.

If you have not registered earlier, you will be asked to do so before you can Add to CD. As you keep adding, you will see the songs you have selected, their duration and the time remaining on your CD. Once you are through, you can view your CD, arrange, add or delete the songs you have selected.

On clicking Add to Cart, you will be taken to a Customise CD cover page where you can select an image from our image library for the cover design on your CD. You can also give your CD a name and add a personal message.

After this comes the Preview Order page where you can view the total price, make copies of the CD you have selected or remove them. You can also add a new CD from here.

You will be required to fill a form for shipping purposes. You can select a mode of payment (credit card or cheque) and submit. You will now get an order confirmation message which means your order has been received and accepted.

What happens when I "Add to CD"?

Each time you Add to CD you will get a pop-up showing you your CD status. This will include, the duration of the song you have selected and the duration left in your CD. You can select up to 60 minutes of songs for your CD. Once you are through with selecting, you will be taken to View CD page where you can arrange the songs in the order of preference, add or delete songs and then place your order.

What happens when I "Add to favourites"?

All the songs you select for "Add to favourites" will be automatically stored in the "My favourites" page. To access this account just type in your user ID and password.

How can I save songs to buy them later?

In case you come across songs you want to buy later, just click on "Add to favourites". This button is present on all pages that display search results. All your favourite songs will then be saved in "My Favourites". To retrieve it, simply type in your user ID and password. Naturally, you will first have to register yourself to avail this facility.

What if the power goes off while I am shopping?

Not to worry! All the songs you have selected for adding to CD, will be automatically stored in the "My Favourites" page.

Once I have formed a CD, do I have to buy it?

No. You are not charged until you place an order for it. You can also review and edit your order before submitting it finally. But once you submit your order and fill the online credit card payment form, it's final.

What is View Cart?

What is View Cart?

This is basically your order summary page. It appears only after you make a purchase. Here, you can view the CDs you have ordered, make multiple copies of CDs or remove a CD entirely. You can also go back to add a new CD if there is no space remaining on your CD. This will, however, mean beginning the entire shopping process again.

What is "My Account"?

Whenever a customer registers with HamaraCD.com or makes a purchase, an account is created for him. Here, the details of all his orders are stored. The customer can access his account using his user ID and password and view his orders along with the order status. He can also edit his profile or password from here.

Can I edit my Shipping and Billing Information?

Yes you can. Just go to "My Account" and click on "Edit Profile" to change billing address.

You can change shipping address by clicking on the reset button but only before you "Submit".

Can I change my E-Mail Address, or Password?

Yes, you can. Just go to My Account page. Then, click on Edit Profile to change e-mail address. To change password, click on the Edit Password link.

How will I receive my orders?

Once your orders and payments are fully processed, we pack your CD for shipping. This is done with special care, so that you receive your order in perfect condition. You will receive your order by courier at the address submitted by you while filling up the online order form.

What is Shipping Address?

The address where you want the shipment to be made is called the Shipping Address.

Do I pay any shipping charges?

No! Shipping is absolutely free.

How do I track my order?

You can track your order at any time after placing your order. Just go to the My Account page to check the status of your order.

What are the features I can customise?

Apart from the song selection itself, you can customise the order in which the songs will be recorded, the image that will appear on the CD cover, the CD title as well as the personal message on the inside of the CD cover.

How can I arrange the songs in the order of my preference?

After selecting the songs which can fit into the CD, click on "View CD". You will now be able to arrange the songs in the sequence of your choice.

How can I customise the CD title and message?

There will be separate boxes within which you can type out your CD title and personal message. Only the message that you type within the box will be printed. Therefore, please include the entire text that needs to be printed.

How can I customize the inlay design?

We have a standard CD cover design with a specific area reserved for you to insert an image.

Once you have selected the songs and arranged them to your satisfaction, you will be able to select an image of your choice from our image library. This will then be inserted in to your CD cover and your customised inlay design is ready.

Only the CD title is a mandatory requirement. The image and the message are optional.

What is the format of the songs on my CD?

All songs are recorded in .cda format on HamaraCD. This is the same format which is present in most of the audio CDs available in the market.

What is the duration of each CD?

You can select upto 60 mins of songs on HamaraCD. While customisation of songs, you will get prompted once you cross this limit.

How do I find my songs?

To find your song, you can either use "Quick Search" or "Advanced Search". You can also browse through the information by music category such as Hindi Films, Tamil Films, Ghazals, Hindustani Classical or Carnatic Classical.

How do I search for a particular song?

If you have a reasonably clear idea of the song you want to buy, first select a music category, for example Hindi or Tamil Films. Then select either or both of the drop downs provided. You could choose song title and fill in the key word or select film artist and fill in key word or select both song title and film artist and fill in key words. Then, press "Go". You will now get a list of songs which match your key word search.

Alternately, if you have information about the song you are searching for but not in the categories mentioned in the "quick search", you can use the "Advanced search" located on the left. It will help you search for your song using additional criteria like song lyricist or song theme or mood.

What happens if my search fails?

Your search may fail for the following reasons:

1. We do not have the song with us. We do not include songs for which Saregama India Ltd., does not have the copyright. Also, there may be songs which we own, but have not yet put on our song database. Your search will help us identify such songs so that we can add them to our list.

2. You may have typed the wrong spelling. Though our special Soundex Search feature can pick out words that are phonetically similar to the one you have typed, in some rare case its quite possible some error could occur. For example, you may have typed Latha instead of Lata or Aaja instead of Aja.

3. Your search may fail even if you use too many categories to narrow down on a song. It would be advisable to use not more than two categories for any search you undertake

What if I get unrelated search results?

This can happen when you have misspelt the words, which forces a Soundex Search. The result of that is that the computer picks up all similar sounding words and syllables from the database. In almost all cases, the song you are looking for will be there in the list (unless we do not have it in our database itself). However, if you get too many items in your results, you can try changing the spelling of your keyword(s). See previous question for more information.

KNOWN PROBLEMS

I cannot play my CD on a DVD player?

The songs are recorded on recordable CDs (CDRs) and hence may not play on some DVD players. In case you intend using the CDs bought on HamaraCD.com on a DVD player, it is advisable to check with your DVD player manufacturer about CDR compatibility before placing an order. Returns related to this issue will not be accepted.
