             Aishwarya Rai born on November 1, 1973, is an Indian actress. Prior to her career in film, she worked as a model and gained fame for winning the Miss World contest in 1994. She made her film debut in Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, Iruvar (1997). Since then, she has acted in nearly forty Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and English films. In 2000 she had a supporting role in the hit film Mohabbatein, she has also done films like Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Kuch Naa Kaho. Often touted as the most beautiful woman in the world, she is one of the most popular actresses of India and has worked on many international projects, such as Bride & Prejudice (2003) and The Last Legion (2007). Rai is currently married to Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan and is the daughter-in-law of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan.

             Shahrukh Khan born 2 November 1965, is a highly acclaimed Bollywood actor, producer, and recent host of the game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. Khan started his acting career in 1988 appearing in the television series Fauji playing the role of Commando Abhimanyu Rai. He went on to appear in several other television serials most notably appearing in the 1989 serial Circus. Khan started out his career appearing in several television serials in the late 1980s. He has been part of numerous commercial successes, delivering a variety of critically acclaimed performances as well. During his career years, he has won six Filmfare Best Actor Awards, and has had significant box office success, with films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995), Dil to Pagal Hai(1997), Darr(1993).

       Tabu, (Full Name Tabassum Hashmi) born on November 4, 1970 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. She is an award-winning Indian actress who has acted in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and English films. Largely considered to be one of the best actresses working in the Indian film industry, she has won the coveted National Film Award for Best Actress twice. Despite a few exceptions, Tabu is known best for her willingness to play characters in artistic, low-budget films that go on to garner more critical appreciation than they do substantial box office figures such as in Maqbool (2003) or Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities (2004). She has done many hindi film like Virasat(1997), Filhaal(2002), Hera Pheri(2000), Saathiya(2002), Prem(1995), Thashak(1999).

             Kamal Haasan (born on November 7, 1954) is a four time National Film Award winning Indian film actor. He began his career as a child artist in many films, while also attending a theatre for stage plays. Kamal Haasan has acted in over two hundred Indian films. Kamal is the youngest of four children born to Rajalakshmi and Srinivasan Ayyengar. His father, an attorney by profession, gave all his sons (Charu Haasan Ayyengar, Chandra Haasan Ayyengar, Kamal Haasan ) the suffix of "Haasan" as a sign of his friendship to one Mr. Haasan. His first highly popular movie was 16 Vayathinile with Sridevi and Rajini kanth . Kamal Haasan and Sri Devi were a popular acting pair and have acted together in 23 films. He also done a famous movie name Ek Duuje Ke Liye.

             Mala Sinha (born 11 November 1936) is an Indian actress. She was quite popular in Bollywood films of the sixties and early seventies. She was born to a Bengali Christian couple and was named Alda. Her friends at school used to tease her calling Dalda (a branded vegetable oil of India), so she changed her name. After acting in a couple of films in Calcutta, Mala had to go to Bombay to shoot for a Bengali film. There she met Geeta Dutt, a noted Bollywood playback singer, who was charmed by her and introduced her to film director Kidar Sharma. It was Sharma who cast her as a heroine in his film Rangeen Ratein. Mala Sinha received Filmfare nominations as Best Actress for memorable films like Dhool Ka Phool (1959). She wasn't even nominated for her mostly essayed roles in strong women-oriented films, such as Hariyali Aur Raasta (1962), Anpadh (1962) and Gumrah (1963). In spite of putting up commendable performances, she has never won the Filmfare award for any of her roles.

             Zeenat Aman was born to a Muslim father and a Hindu mother. Amanullah, her father was one of the writers for the movie Mughal-e-Azam and he died when Zeenat was just 13. Aman graduated from St. Xavier's School in Mumbai and went to Los Angeles for her studies. Upon returning to India, she first took a job as a journalist for Femina and then later on moved on to modeling. She was the second runner up in the Miss India Contest and went on to win the Miss Asia Pacific in 1970. After having studied in Los Angeles, winning the Miss Asia pageant and a successful modeling career, Aman's film career began with a small role in O. P. Ralhan's Hulchul in 1971. However, an error of judgment on actress Zaheeda's part changed the course of Aman's career. Dev Anand offered Zaheeda (his second heroine in Prem Pujari) the role of sister in Hare Rama Hare Krishna(1972). Throughout the 1970s, the Dev-Zeenat pairing was seen in half a dozen films: Heera Panna (1973), Ishq Ishq Ishq (1974), Warrant (1975). Of these, Warrant, was the biggest box-office success. Some more hit film are Don(1978), Satyam Shivam Sundaram(1976), Yaadon Ki Baaraat(1973), Insaaf Ka Tarazu(1980), Janwar(1982).

             Helen was born on October 21, 1939 in Burma to an Anglo-Burmese/Anglo-Indian father and Burmese mother. A family friend, an actress known as Cukoo, helped her find jobs as a chorus dancer in the films Shabistan and Awaara (1951). Helen was soon working regularly, and was featured as a solo dancer in films like Alif Laila (1952) and Hoor-e-Arab (1953). In 1958, she had her first major hit with her performance in the song "Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu" in O.P. Nayyar's hit film, Howrah Bridge. She had work in many famous films like The Great Gambler (1979), Don(1978), China Town(1962), Woh Kaun Thi(1964), Teesri Manzil(1966), Mere Jeevan Saathi(1972), Caravan(1971). Helen retired from the screen for a number of years, but made a few "guest star" appearances in 1999 and 2000. In Mohabbatein, she plays the prim and proper head of a girls' school, who is pulled out onto a dance floor and surprises everyone with her lively dancing.



Amol Palekar
Amol Palekar
             Amol Palekar (born November 24, 1944) is a well known actor of the '70s and later director of notable Indian movies. Amol Palekar was born in a Maharashtrian Saraswat Brahmin family in Bombay, where he attended the Sir J. J. School of Art. He started with the Marathi experimental stage with Satyadev Dubey and later started his own group 'Aniket' set up in 1972. He introduced theatre of the absurd in Maharashtra and a street theatre-inspired practice of performing plays in the round. In 1974 he was cast as an actor by Basu Chatterjee in Rajnigandha, which led to many other such roles in middle-class comedies often directed by Chatterjee or Hrishikesh Mukherjee such as Golmaal, Chhoti Si Baat and Naram Garam. He also done the movie like Apne Paraye(1980), Chitchor(1976), Baton Baton Mein(1979), Gharaonda(1977).

Laxmikant was born in a poor family. He was quite impressed by mandolin and learnt to play it by his own. He used to play mandolin in street functions. Later, to earn some money, he started organizing Indian Classical Music concerts and started performing in them. He also started playing mandolin for Bollywood film music directors. Pyarelal was the son of a renowned trumpeter Pt. Ramprasad Sharma, who taught him the basics of music. He learnt to play violin from a Goan called Anthony Gonsalves (Incidentally, Amitabh Bachchan's character was called Anthony Gonsalves in the movie Amar Akbar Anthony as a tribute to Mr. Gonsalves. The movie had music by Laxmi-Pyare). Laxmi-Pyare gave music for almost 500 films in their 35-year career, winning 32 Gold Discs. They won seven Filmfare awards, including four times in a row. They also won the Lata Mangeshkar Award. Some of their successful scores include Dosti(1964), Aan Milo Sajna(1970), Anurodh(1977), Satyam Shivam Sundaram(1976), Kranti(1980), Prem Rog(1982), Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981), Hero(1983).
